TYPES OF VIDEOS
Video can be a powerful element as part of a campaign to educate, inform, create change or raise funds.
Many of the videos we produce are IMAGE TV spots. These are videos that create or enhance an image that the client wants to portray. Many times, this is an extension of the business or service they already offer. Often we use their printed materials, ads or brochures that they have already researched, produced and know that work for them. EVENT- type spots are where you're advertising an upcoming event. Many times these are compiled from photographs, stock footage, text and graphics - perhaps because this is a first-time or one-time event and no actual video footage exists. Of course, if it's the first of many events, it would be wise to capture some video of the event and use it for promotions in the following years. LIFESTYLE videos go beyond the show and tell of a business message and attempt to use everyday lifestyle - OUTSIDE the business - to impart the message. BROADCASTING
SO - you've got a wonderful video created - what do you do with it? Well, if it’s a commercial, going on the air is pretty obvious. Here are the outlets on Maui that have the capacity to broadcast TV Advertising: (Clickable links)
• Oceanic Time Warner Cable • The Visitor Channel • Maui TV News But the big outlet is the Internet. That same TV spot or a longer promotional video can be used on your company website, on Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and several dozen other online video playback providers. I think we've all seen outrageous videos, some good, some bad, some ridiculous. In my opinion, this is the place to use flipcam and cellphone videos or the nice video your nephew shot with his new HD camcorder. So - if you're outrageous, go crazy - stick it on YouTube! If you're representing your business - keep it professional. If you have an outrageous business that you want to promote professionally - well, contact me and we'll talk! |
