An older woman (“Helene”) considers the dying of the bees to be an indication for the approaching end of mankind, due to millennia of abuse of nature; When she takes a young disrespectful woman (“Karla”) prisoner in her apartment, the verbal fight between the mature, sensitive world-view of a “queenbee” and the ignorant arrogance of a youngster turn into a murderous struggle for the inexperienced one’s right of survival … but in the end, not all may be real what appears to be dead-serious.

A tree is accidental meeting place of nine people who don’t know each other, but all have a special need to be close to that very tree. Bizarre interactions develop that lead to unintentional murder. In interviews, all people involved reveal their motivations to fight for their place around the tree and share details from their private lives, and it becomes obvious that they all are unknowingly connected in some way and that each of them has to deal with tragedies and needs that are similar to those of the others. The tree himself expresses his bitter feelings about being embattled by those “others” in the introductory section of the film.

A middle-aged Internet-addict (“Gero”) who lives his life behind closed doors in the virtual world, gets through the intervention of his desperate girlfriend involved in the trendy treasure hunting game “Geocaching”, and not only does he discover nature and the outside world anew, but he also faces his own subtle values, ideals, fears and hopes and begins to reassess society-life and personal goals. He gives up his secluded life and renews his relationships with the ones closest to him and the entire world.

In the mid 19th century, Hawaii turned from an ancient "pagan" society into one of the most literate Christian nations in the world, leaving behind eras of tribal cults and sacrifices, of legendary magical ways of living predating even the era of the settlement of Polynesia. The intersection of cultures in Hawaii begun thousands of years ago, continued with Western contact and eclipsed in the fate of several young Hawaiian sailors and a Prince who played historical key-roles in the era of greatest changes when they introduced the pioneer American Christian missionaries to the islands.

Hawaii is often considered the epitome of “paradise” – this documentary deals in depth with the true historical past of the archipelago and the related cultural and spiritual concepts as well as practices that are today often featured in very distorted ways, making the Hawaiian islanders appear to be a people that could have only existed in fiction. In reality, Hawaii has always been a place of great diversity. (40 expert speakers, native Hawaiian narrators, numerous historical images, Hawaiian cultural footage and music.)
